Version 56 Support Extended

cPanel, Inc. has extended the End of Life for cPanel & WHM version 56 by six months. Version 56 will now reach End of Life in October, 2017. This version is the last to support 32-bit Operating Systems, CentOS 5, RHEL 5, and CloudLinux 5, and we are extending our support of this version in order to allow our users more time to migrate their server to a supported and current operating system.

The process of migrating from one server to another has been simplified and improved by recent additions to the cPanel & WHM Transfer tool, but we understand that migrating entire servers worth of data can be a complicated and timely process.

While we are extending support for version 56, versions 58 and 60 will not see extended support schedules, and will still reach their end of life as expected. CentOS 5, RHEL 5, and CloudLinux 5 have all reached End of Life and will no longer receive bug fixes or security updates from Redhat or CloudLinux. That means that any site hosted on one of those operating systems will be open to exploit by any flaws that are identified after today until the website is migrated to a modern operating system.
