The time is nearing for us to publish our first cPanel & WHM 11.32 development build. As we state in our documentation, development releases publish with odd-numbered major values. Therefore, this development release will be published as version 11.31.
I’d like to take this opportunity to mention some of the significant changes. The most noticeable change is we have redesigned our login interface for cPanel, WHM and Webmail. The login UI is completely localized, and available in all the locales we currently provide. When the login form is requested, the system detects which locales the user’s browser is requesting. If we provide a matching locale, the login form displays for that locale. The user also can select a locale directly in the login interface. (The former login interface is still available. To use the older login form, set the Login Theme to ‘cpanel-legacy’ within Tweak Settings.)
Version 11.32 brings support for DKIM, and ends support for DomainKeys. Existing DomainKeys zone records are compatible with DKIM. When accounts are created, SPF and DKIM records can also be added. We also added capability to add and remove SPF and DKIM records when modifying an account.
A new Email Delivery Reports system is available to cPanel & WHM users. The reporting system obtains its data from the eximstats database. We changed the default data retention length in the eximstats database from 16 days to 90 days. The data retention length is also customizable via the Tweak Settings option entitled The interval, in days, to retain Exim stats in the database. A command line utility is also available, so you can import data from archived exim log files into the eximstats database. There is a minor incompatibility with the Email Delivery Reports and MySQL versions older than 5.0. This will be fixed in a later development release.
The email queue management interface in WHM was redesigned. We added support for MyDNS-NG, and MySQL 5.5. When switching to MyDNS-NG, the zone files on disk will be merged into the database. This can take a while on servers with a lot of zones.
The domain log analytics application Logaholic is integrated with cPanel & WHM 11.32. It is distributed by default, but not activated. No extra license is needed to use this bundled application.
We added a standardized hook system. This feature is similar to how existing function and event hooks work with cPanel & WHM. However, it adds more benefits, such as the capability to provide privilege escalation. It also allows multiple hooks to run for the same event, which is not possible on the existing system without manual intervention. Documentation on this feature is in progress and will be posted at a later date.
cPanel & WHM version 11.32 brings over 300 bug fixes and optimizations. There are also a number of minor changes and tweaks throughout the system.
As a reminder, per our Operating System End of Life Policy, FreeBSD systems and legacy Linux systems will not be able to upgrade to cPanel & WHM 11.32. This includes the 11.31 development builds.
In addition, systems using mbox, or that have Exim updates disabled, will not be able to upgrade to 11.32.
Once a system has upgraded to 11.32, the following changes will block downgrading to 11.30:
In version 11.32, we have added complete support for downgrading to earlier cPanel & WHM versions. It is no longer necessary to run a script, such as /usr/local/cpanel/scripts/downgrade_cpanel, to downgrade from 11.32 to 11.30. Merely changing your tier in WHM’s Update Preferences and running /usr/local/cpanel/scripts/upcp will suffice.
Fixes for the following issues will be included in later development releases.
